Big Day Out

On Wednesday 28 April 2010 Room 4 went to Ahuroa Venture camp for our big day out.
when we got there a lady named Judie divided us into three teams my team the knuklebots had to go skiing i thought it was going be fun but it was boring there were to giant wood planks and ropes attached to them we had to lift the ropes and take a step.
later we moved to skipping we had to jump into the skipping rope after skipping two times we jumped out.
After a few other games we moved onto the climbing wall i made it up the climbing wall three times it was awesome the climbing wall was really big.
Second we went to the rope course it was easy i finished the rope course.
Finally we had to go back to school.
I had an awesome time i wish i could go there again.

R4`s Big Day Out

On Wednesday 28 April 2010 Room 4 went to Ahuroa Venture Camp for our Big Day Out.After we arrived at the camp we all divided into three teams the Ginger Ninjas , Knucklebots and the Super Stars.Then the teams went to do different activities my team, the Ginger Ninjas did Tennis Ball Transportation .We had to put on blindfolds and crawl along the ground in search of two buckets .We had to fill up one with balls from the other bucket.When you find a bucket you call out "bucket bucket"and the rest of your team comes to either drop off or pick up balls.After that we played skiing and jump roping ,those done we went to climb the rock wall.It was really fun .after everyone had climbed up at least twice we went to the low rope course.It was awesome and I loved it except for the commando crawl which was painful.It was a very nice day in my opinion and I hope to be going again.

Coral Reef Food Chain

This is our Coral Reef food chain.
It starts with the critters that eat the coral or eat each other.These critters are the Blood spotted crab,a Sea cucumber,a Sea urchin, a Starfish and the Coral.
Then we move on to the next level of the food chain.They either eat the coral or the critters.They include a Green parrot fish, a Moorish idol,a Powder blue surgeon fish and a Sting ray.
The next level is the top predators group which includes a Cerise grouper fish and a Reef shark.
Semisi and I made this using paint,coloured paper,cardboard toothpicks and polystyrene.

School Picnic

On Thursday 18 February Kaipara Flats school went to Martins Bay for a picnic. I had to go with Sue but she kept pulling over because people kept ringing her and then we were 5 minutes late but that didn't matter.

Most of Kaipara Flats school community and families came to the picnic.

Because I was a couple of minutes late I don't know if I missed an activity. The first game I did was my classroom game that we invented. I don't know the name but all we had to do was get sand and put it in the bucket. The first team to get there bucket full wins.

The Tug of war was really hard. My group name is Rimu and we won our first round but we lost our second and third round but then the adults versed us. It was really hard but we won.

The water was freezing but it was fun. I liked swimming in on the waves the speed was incredibly fast. It was so fast I counted to five and I was on shore with a biting crab on my back!!!

The school picnic was so much fun I hope we do it next year It was the funnest thing I have ever done at school.

Show Day 2009

Last Saturday our school and loads of other people came to Kaipara Flats School for the school show day.
When I got there I found Rhys and we went to room 4 to get the equipment for the stall.We also looked at our presentations and looked to see if we got a certificate. I got third place for my miniature garden.
Caelan eventually came with the prizes and lollies for the stall.The stall is called Squash The Square.The object of the game was to hit a square on a board with a stretchy sticky hand.If you hit the black square you win a prize.If you hit a square with a number, you win a lolly.
Mum bought a plate of cookies at the bake stand and i took one and said thanks to mum and then went to have a try at some games at the stalls.When i came back to the stall Rhys went to have a break which left me with Caelan. I always had to explain the rules because Caelan, went off to buy a sherbet and came back sucking it and not stopping!
I thought it was a very entertaining day and very very very hot day too!
